Trish Simon BA, CYW, MSW Candidate
Trish is currently working on completing the Master of Social Work program at Wilfrid Laurier University (Kitchener ON). She has previously completed a Bachelor of Arts in Child & Youth Care, an Advanced Diploma in Child & Youth Worker, and has over 20 years experience in the field of Social Work.
Trish has successfully worked internationally and nationally with thousands of children, youth, and adults at several community agencies such as: orphanages, highschools, elementary schools, residential group homes, and child welfare agencies supporting adults obtain the supports they need to thrive. Trish is joining the practice as of May 2024 as a Student Therapist. Her passion for psychotherapy lies in a desire to help others in Sarnia-Lambton community live their best lives, through focusing on individual needs of each client. Trish has been trained in several therapy modalities such as: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness Practice, and Narrative Therapy. She is also an experienced Circle of Security© Parenting (COSP) facilitator, a program that focuses on meeting the emotional needs of children and strengthening healthy parent-child attachments. During her practicum at Dan Rusu Psychotherapy Services, she will be training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and will be able to provide this service to treat trauma and its effects.
